Ramon Oosterkamp

Ramon has been with MetService since 1996, and currently holds the position of Lead Forecaster. He is a shift worker, covering all hours of the day.

He lives in Upper Hutt with his wife Tam and soon to be daughter Ruby, and commutes to work.

Ramon enjoys all sports, but concentrates mostly on surfing, golf and mountain biking and can be found running around Upper Hutt usually three to four times a week.

He was born in the Netherlands, not far from the German border, and immigrated to New Zealand in 1983. Ramon completed his Science degree at Massey University, followed by a diploma in Applied Science in Meteorology at Victoria University.

And NO, he’s not a real farm hand, although has worked as a farmhand during his days as a university student.
