Sunny for the Sevens

MetService is forecasting that the anticyclone moving slowly over New Zealand over the next few days is likely to bring the hottest days of  summer ( so far) along for the NZI Sevens in Wellington.

On Friday,  still conditions are likely to  help the heat build in the stadium .

On Saturday, we are forecasting  an increasing northerly breeze, and  that may provide some heat relief .

The best way to beat the heat is to drink more water than usual and avoid full sunlight.

This hot dry weather accompanying this anticyclone is expected to last around New Zealand  until Saturday.

People in the inland basins of the South island are likely to encouter day-time air temperatures reaching the thirties.

The forecast for ceremonies in the Bay of Islands on Waitangi Day is for sun plus a scattering of cloud with an onshore breeze keeping the temperature to below around 23C.
On Sunday,  a  southerly change is expected to bring cooler conditions .
